Our Story
The founder of The Fashion Arts Sewing Studio, Clara Lopez-Castro, is a fashion designer with over 25 years of experience in New York City’s Fashion Industry. She holds degrees from The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale in Fashion Design and an Apparel Pattern Making and Design degree from The Fashion Institute of Technology, NY.

After moving to Boca Raton in 2008 and trading the cold weather for year-round sunshine, Clara quickly realized there was a certain curiosity within her community with the arts of fashion design and sewing. She found an overwhelming interest in others to learn this wonderful skill and began to explore teaching opportunities in her own backyard. She did a little research and soon developed those opportunities with The Boca Raton Community Center, The Art School of The Boca Raton Museum of Art as well as Sugar Sand Park. In 2014, she created fashion and sewing programs where children learned the creative side of the apparel, design & sewing industry.
From the response and huge success of these classes, Clara decided to launch The Fashion Arts and Sewing Studio, a place for everyone to learn Fashion Design and Sewing skills. She truly enjoys teaching all age groups and helping people create their dream projects.
